Creating your AI Phone Agent
By the end of this guide, you'll have an AI Phone Agent ready to receive or make phone calls to your users.
Step 1: Create a Phone Assistant
- Go to AI Agents -> Assistant and click on Add an Assistant.
- Select Phone as the Assistant Type.
- Provide a name and description for your Assistant.
Note: Phone Assistants use GPT-3.5 as the LLM model, optimized for low latency.
Step 2: Configure the Prompt
- The Prompt is the key to driving the conversation in near real-time. It acts as the source of information for the Agent and follows the instructions given to drive the call.
- Use pre-defined Prompt Templates to design your Prompt and fulfill your objective.
Step 3: Select Speech Recognition Language and Voice
- Choose the speech recognition language for your Agent.
- Select the voice to be used for the Agent. You can also preview premium voices by clicking the Preview button.
Step 4: Create the Assistant
- Click Submit to create your Assistant.
Step 5: Create a Phone Widget
- Go to the Widgets screen and click Add a Widget.
- Provide a name and description for your Widget.
- Select the Phone Assistant you created in the previous steps.
Note: When you select a Phone Assistant, the Widget Type will be Phone.
Step 6: Configure Twilio Integration
- Select the Twilio account you want to use.
- Choose one of the phone numbers associated with your Twilio account.
- Click Submit to configure Twilio and start receiving calls from the selected phone number.
Step 7: Test Your AI Phone Agent
- Call the phone number to test your AI Phone Agent.
Your AI Phone Agent is now ready to receive or make phone calls to your users.
